AVAVAV is seeking an intern who is hungry to learn by supporting the brand’s in-house design team at the head office in Stockholm. The main mission for this role is to assist in the day to day development of the seasonal collections. This is an opportunity to work closely to the core of the brands creative team and get to learn all the important steps in an up-and-coming company. About the role
This internship entails sketching designs, both hand-drawn and digital, hands-on work in the atelier and assisting in everything design related. The internship requires an ambitious team player who is keen to learn and help in the process of designing collections. To be fit for this experience one needs to enjoy working in a smaller team in an up-and-coming environment, with all its ups and downs.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Support design and ideation
- Sew, drape and experiment with trims and creative pattern making
- Assist in the day to day work of the creative director.
Prerequisites
- Strong creative with a conceptual mind
- Some experience of pattern making and sewing
- Some knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & flat sketching
- Some knowledge of fabrication and choosing accurate qualities for different styles of garments
- Fluent in English or Swedish.
Valuable
- Strong design portfolio
- knowledge of Adobe programs.
